Carlotta vs. Charlotte

We thought we had decided on Charlotte until a Spanish woman suggested Carlotta, the Spanish version, to us. We realised that we love both equally! Carlotta would be nice to use as we have Spanish relatives, and it would stand out more than Charlotte. But Charlotte is such a beautiful, graceful, timeless classic that I adore it too! Which one do you guys prefer? And PLEASE comment any suggestions for the middle name! Anna and Mark xx

I love both names. I think Carlotta would be perfect for you but Charlotte is equally great. Maybe bring both names with you to the hospital and see which name she fits better.

They’re both great. I think you’ll find a name that stands out if you find a good middle name.

I voted for Carlotta as, while Charlotte is just beautiful, Carlotta is much more unusual. I do now feel that Charlotte is a little overused - there are 4 in my son’s 50-person year! Carlotta will stand out in a lovely way.

To me Charlotte is much more musical, graceful and elegant than fiery, modern Carlotta.
I love Charlotte Alice, Charlotte Seren and Charlotte Matilda xx
