Elena Marie vs. Helene Marie vs. Helen Marie
Trying to decide on a name for our daughter that honors my late grandmother, Helen. Elena=ee-LAY-nah, Helene=heh-LEEN. Should we use a variation of Helen like Elena or Helene or should we just use Helen? We love all three so we need your help to make this decision! Middle name will be Marie and her older brother is Harper Allen(2) and her older sister is Mary Katharine(6). Using a form of Mary in all our girl’s names is a family tradition so the baby’s middle name will be Marie even though her sister’s first name is Mary.

Helen Marie gmv. I love both Elena and Helen. But Helen is so much rarer at the moment. And I love how down-to-earth it feels. Plus, it’s your grandmother’s actual name which you love. Win win.
On the pronunciation of Elena I’m not sure how comment #1 thinks it should be pronounced. For what it’s worth I say, "eh-LAY-nuh" but "ee-LAY-nuh" would not make me blink.
I’ve never been fond of Helene. It’s not a bad name, just not a personal favorite. Good luck! :0)

Helen is my favorite, followed by Helene. I really like Elena, but it is a Spanish name and most non-Spanish speaking people mispronounce. The pronunciation you put is not correct. Elena is pronounced: eh-LAY-nah, not ee-LAY-nah.
