Aaliyah Grace vs. Alia Grace vs. Aleyah Grace

Hello everyone! Our baby girl’s name is going to be pronounced Aa-lee-ah but we’re unsure of how to spell it. I like the spelling "Aaliyah" but we’re afraid of people mispronouncing it "A-lie-ah". We like Alia but there’s a company called Alia. Aleyah is nice but it could be mispronounced as "A-lay-ah.

Everyone knows how to pronounce Aaliyah as ah-LEE-uh. Aaliyah Haughton (went by just Aaliyah) was a well-known R&B singer. (She died in 2001 in a plane crash.) Aaliyah is the most familiar spelling in the U.S. because of her. It has a great meaning, "high, lofty, sublime" in Arabic.

Thanks! I think I’ll use Aaliyah. I heard someone mispronounce it as Ah-Lie-ah once though. I think it’s worth the risk because it’s not a big deal if someone mispronounces it as long as it doesn’t happen constantly.
