Isabella Rose vs. Isabel Rose
Which is prettier: Isabella or Isabel? We love both of them. For Isabel we prefer Isabelle but are concerned it will be misread to Isabella. The middle name will be Rose. We know it’s very common, but we are honouring my sister Matilda Rose, who sadly lost her life aged 13. Please comment your thoughts on Isabella/Isabel. Thank you! ~ Sophia x

I have an Isabelle. It’s never been misread to Isabella. If you prefer this spelling go for it. I think it’s prettier, more elegant, more complete and feminine.
Isabel Rose is stunning! And it’s even more beautiful with an honour to family. My daughter is Isabelle Grace which I still lovee.
So sorry for your loss of Matilda Rose BTW :( but nice to see that her spirit lives on with Isabelle Rose.

Isabel/Isabelle is one of the most stunningly beautiful names ever. And I LOVE the nn Isa (ee-sah). I think Isabel Rose is absolutely GORGEOUS! Isabelle Rose is as well, I just prefer the spelling Isabel. If you love the spelling Isabelle though, I think you should go for it. I don’t see it being misread, definitely not worth worrying over or not going with the spelling you love.
Not a huge fan of Isabella.
Very sorry to hear about your sister, what a beautiful way to honor her and it just makes the name all the more beautiful, deep and meaningful...

Isabelle is beautiful, was a very strong contender for my Maisie. I think it is a lot prettier than Isabel, a little bland to me, and Isabella, which I find harsh and frilly.
What a lovely way to honour your sister by using Rose. I am so sorry for your loss. But your daughter will now have a special bond with the aunt she never got to meet.

Definitely Isabel. Prettier, better flow.
I have an Isabel Hannah, so obviously I prefer Isabel to Isabelle, but in this case, I would choose Isabelle as I feel it matches the style of Rose much better than Isabel. Isabelle Rose is lovely, and the way it honours your sister is perfect.
I wouldn’t worry about Isabelle being misread to Isabella. My Isabel’s ’BFF’ is Isabelle, I know her mother well and to the best of my knowledge she has never had a problem with this.
