Taura vs. Tara

We are naming our daughter Taura/ Tara, pronounced TARE-uh, we are struggling to find a pronouciation that will be easy for people to get without her going her whole life explaining her name. We are also considering Tauren, but are also afraid people would pronouce it incorrectly, how would you pronouce Tauren? Thanks! -Paige

I wouldn’t pronounce Taura or Tauren the same as Tara. I would say T-Ow-Ra or T-Ow-ren
but Taura pronounced as I said is still pretty.
If your going for TARE-a, then stick with Tara spelling

Spell it Tara! I have never seen anyone mispronounce the name Tara. Also Tauren to me would be pronounced like Lauren.

If you want to make sure people will pronounce it TARE-a then spell it Terra.

No. Tara is always TAYR-uh unless you live in the UK.

I would pronounce Tara as TARE-uh, but I would pronounce Taura to rhyme with Laura. Sometimes people pronounce Tara as TAR-uh. If you want the first pronunciation, try Terra and it will be cut and dry.
