Isaac vs. "I suck"

Isaac has always been one of my top names for boys, if not my top name. Since finding out we were expecting, I have suggested this name to my husband and his immediate response was "I suck". He likes it but he said he will be teased. Since he said that, I can’t get it out of my head and now I don’t want to use it. What should I do? Do you think kids will call him "I suck"?

Haha, I’ve never heard that before- I know a lot of Isaac’s and never heard that term.. But I know what you mean, it’s hard to undo once you’ve heard it. It’s so easy to be turned off my someone else

Kids can find negative nicknames for any name if they want to. I wouldn’t base your decision on that. I was considering this, too, with another name when I heard a kid in a store calling his sister "Spacey Gracey". In our area Grace is extremely popular and I decided that if a kid could turn a popular name like Grace into a method of teasing, no name was safe. So I quit worrying about it.

I think because most people say "I-zick", the I suck thing won’t come up.

I’ve know a lot of people called Isaac (it’s quite common where I am) and none of them has been called that. You shouldn’t worry about it :)
