Queenie for a Girl Comment Similar vs. Yes vs. No

My husband really wanted to name our baby girl Queen. I was not for it, then he came up with Queenie. And he has sold that name to himself. I like more simple things like Mia. Leah, Ariel. But he wants the name or a form of the name Queen so bad he doesn’t like any of my suggestion haha. I don’t see it on an adult woman it might be cute now. What do you guys think? Honest yet Positive feeback needed.

Tiara? Like a crown a Queen would wear, he can call her his Queenie, you can call her Tia.

Names that mean princes?
Orla - golden princess
Maelie - princess
Any variation on Sarah: Sally, Sadie, Zara, Suri.

Names of queens?
Elizabeth
Caroline
Alice
Cleopatra (technically she was a Pharaoh/Empress, also it means ’glory of the father’ which is cute) - could be nicknamed Cleo.

Also:
Reigna, Raina, or Rena
Quintessa ? (not that that’s any better from your perspective I’m guessing)
I’ve known women named Queen who it worked for and who carried the name. I think Queen is definitely better than Queenie because at least it is grown sounding.

That is my main concern, Queen not growing with her. Do you guys think it will?

Pretty much any name grows with the child. I would go for Queen not Queenie, but realistically, the name will grow with her.
I hear it here all the time, that names like Poppy, Evie, Alfie and Freddie won’t ’age well’ but there are literally hundreds of children with those names in the UK, and hundreds of adults. Those names all aged fine. Why not Queen?
Although I might give her a more ’standard’ middle name just to balance it out.

Thanks. I agree totally. Just hope she grows up to be a standup person haha. Because if not.....

Also if I do let him go with Queen I will need to find a middle name that does not sound like a joke but is elegant and classic. For example Queen Alexandra or Queen Elizabeth (two names I actually do like) :/

That would be hard to find a middle name. Simone? Denise? Rachel?
Good luck! I’m sure your daughter will do well with a mama who seems so kind and full of humor. :)

Queen or Queenie would sound downright ridiculous on any human being. Your husband might like the name but your daughter’s the one who must live with it.

I think you need to aim for middle names that are not too traditional or formal.

Queen Imogen
Queen Mae
Queen Lily
Queen Lucy
Queen Lola
Queen Molly
Queen Nora
Queen Delilah
Queen Willow
Queen Natalie
Queen Serena
Queen Alexa
Queen Melanie
Queen Natasha
Queen Suzanne
Queen Joanna

Thanks guys! And those are some nice middle names. I just don’t think I can do it. They all sound like a Queen (blank) of so and so to me. Haha. Maybe we can try for it being the middle name (Queenie) maybe.
Or if we did do Queen she wouldn’t be able to have a middle name.
