I definitely thought it was B/G twins with Noel being a girl. I’ve never heard Noel pronounced Nole.

Noel will definitely likely be pronounced like Noelle. Especially seeing as how N-o-e-l is the correct/original spelling of Noelle. Leon is good but I would switch Noel out with something else.

Clearly two boys, Noelle is feminine, Noel is masculine, only the ignorant would see it otherwise. Have seen anagrams for twins before, cute connection without being overbearing

Nowl pronunciation and Noel spelling is obviously masculine. I’ve know 3 boys with this name.

Rude comments above wow!

I agree NOEL is a girl name... NEVER seen a boy named that and pronounced Nole

This combo is always on the list of "matchy" twin names. Noel is nole as far as I know. e.g. Noel Gallagher. Noelle is the female variant. But now in the age of girls named James anything goes I guess.

I would spell it Nole as the people above have indicated that there would be pronunciation issues if you spell it Noel.

It’s one thing for a girl to have a boy name but when you give a boy a name that even slightly sounds feminine or like it’s a girl name, he will never hear the end of the teasing and being called a wimp and other names(some that are just not nice).

Noel will more than likely be pronounced like Noelle, not like Joel. Especially seeing as how, like correctly stated in the second comment, Noel is the original spelling of Noelle, Noelle is just the spelling everyone uses these days. I know so many girls with the first or middle name Noel/Noelle. I have never seen it on a boy or pronounced like Joel. Noel will be seen as a girl name from the start of his life, especially once he gets into school.

Honestly have never seen such nonsense, how is noel even remotely noelle, some people simple do not know the rules of english pronunciation:
Given Name NOEL
GENDER: Masculine
USAGE: English
PRONOUNCED: NOL

Any other pronunciation would require the Noël or Noelle spelling, period.

^^ btw, Noël is still masculine, just the French spelling, see composer Noël Coward. The emphasis for the boys name is the 1st syllable, for the girls name the 2nd - in English the boys name is 1 syllable. It could not be clearer.

@Poster 9 for every site that says it is pronounced Nol is another site that says it is pronounced Noh-el. Both are correct but in the States most people are going to pronounce it Noh-el like the Christmas Carol "The First Noel"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys are missing the point here, who cares if it’s pronounced No-el or Nole, THEY’RE LITERALLY ABOUT TO GIVE THEIR KIDS THESE NAMES!!!!
As a twin girl myself, I say that this is he WORST thing you could do to them! You have either been seriously misguided, or you don’t know any twins. Either way, you are ENCOURAGING people to think of your sons as a set! Twins are INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE, won’t anyone understand that?! Do you want your sons to be convinced as small children that their parents think of them as the same person, or to convince themselves they actually ARE the same?!?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH IT HURTS TO BE CALLED THE ’SAME PERSON?!?!’ It’s the worst thing anyone has ever said to me, and it happened a bunch of times.

Now imagine yourself in these these 2 conversations:
Random person: Hi, G----
You: Hi, and btw I’m M-----
RP: Whatever, same thing.
You: (in shock) WHAAA???
RP: What? It’s true!
You: (goes somewhere to sob)

Conversation 2:
Noel: Mom, are Leon and I a set?
You (as the parent now): Why of course not! Whatever gave you that idea?
N: Well, why did you name us Noel and Leon, then?
You: Uh.....

It was just a weird, spur-of-the moment idea, and in 10 years you’ll look back and not be able to believe that you actually thought of naming your sons this!
