Hudson is a BOY’S NAME!!!!!!!! Don’t turn another boy’s name into a trendy girl’s name. What are we supposed to name our sons??? What happened to feminine names?

omg, Hudson would sound so sweet on a little girl! I seriously LOVE it! I adore boy names for girls. All of my girls will have boy names. And believe me I have gotten some negative comments but I did not let that affect me at all! Just don’t listen to them. It’s much better and more unique than "Isabelle" and "Emma". Hudson is really cute and I think I have to add that to my name list. Good luck & go for it!!!!

Ever thought the word "son" was in the name Hudson for a reason???? IT’S BECAUSE IT’S A BOY’S NAME! Do you really want you daughter to share her name with a boy? If you have to use it, use it as a middle name.

Hudson sounds sweet and really different for a little girl. I like it. But don’t give her a really common or girly mn. That just looks weird. I’d stick with unisex! =)

Isn’t it the same as naming ur daughters Peyton Reese Hayden Jamie MacKenzie Carson Ashley Ashton etc etc which are all boy names and most girl names are forms of boy names Olivia Victoria Denise Leah/Lee etc who cares if its a boy or girl name it cute and in the end its the parents decision. I happen to think its cute!

Hudson would be quite different for a girl, but I like it. I think you should go with a very feminine mn though. How about Hudson Gianna, Hudson Camille, Hudson Alayna?

I don’t care for the Hudson because it strikes me as a last name more than a first but i think it would be a cute middle name. Caelyn Hudson or something like that!!

Terrible. I hate this dumb craze.
What happens when she gets calls Mr. Hudson____. Her boyfriend says he’s dating someone named Hudson___. What happens when there are multiple boys with this name at school. What happens when she is put in the wrong P.E. class. What happens if she is tomboy and everyone thinks she’s a guy. What happens when you name your daughter Hudson (or any terrible unisex name). Her Identity is loss, and she will wonder why her parents every made this choice.
omg, antelope- these days, so many babies have unisex or opposite sex names that it will be no big deal when she’s older. NONE OF THE SITUATIONS YOU DESCRIBE ARE BIG DEALS. her identity is not lost AT ALL by having a unisex name. give me a break.
good luck- i think hudson is a cute name

I hope she won’t be a tom boy. BTW all those situations matter, and I also believe that she will not lose her identity but have an identity of a boy. Joella Hudson would be fabulous.

We named our Daughter Hudson at first no one cared much for the name and our family was against it, parents with boys named Hudson were insulted, but NOW alot there are alot of comments how cute her name is or how they love it. We were really active in the community when she was a baby volunteering for a roots of empathy cl[removed]o alot of children naturally excepted it as a girls name which is great because we live in a small community. But honestly a name does not make a child one way or the other the child is who they are regardless of their name. A warm loving family has far more impact. pick the name you love because its your love that will raise that child.

Hudson is such a beautiful name, not just for a little girl, but also as she gets older. This is definitely on my top 5 favourite names list. My name is Mackenzie and I am fine with having a unisex name that is also a last name, it has never impacted on my identity as a person or anything like that. The only thing about Hudson, is there is a lack of nicknames for it

We named our daughter Hudson in 1997. When she was younger she didn’t like it 7-9 years old. Now at 17 really likes it and gets so many compliments on it. We used nicole for a middle name.

I like some boy names for girls...we almost named our little girl Clarke (after my grandfather...) but I have two boys and thought she needed a feminine name! But, can we please draw the line at names that end in SON...I mean the name literally means that she is someone’s SON...i.e. Jackson once meant the child was Jack’s SON and Jameson was James’ SON...you get the idea. I know our culture likes to reinvent the wheel, but let’s just take a second to think things through...

My name is Hudson too and I am a girl. My mothers maiden name is Hudson and I was named after her side of the family. I’m 31, was a complete tomboy and never in my life have been called Mr. or was put in a boys class. I just recently named my daughter Hudson, although her middle name is what she goes by. It has now become a "family name" and reading some of these comments were insulting. If someone is asking for help when naming their child...a yay or nay works just fine

Never met another Hudson until the last 2yrs and they are all boy’s. I didn’t like my name as a child but I would never change it even when asked by friends who think I need a more feminine name. Hudson Utah, who else will you ever meet with those names? Loving it :-)

Madison ends in son and it’s one of the most popular girls names. It is ignorant to assume a name will shape someone’s femininity or masculinity. I think Hudson is an awesome name. People name their kids lief winter stormy rain etc all the time. Over time people get use to it and it’s not a big deal

might as well name her george or henry or harry then... are they cute girls names as well?
Hudson is a boys name, not a girls but then you can name her anything you like, your child. I just wouldn’t have liked my parents naming me Sally(I’m male) cause they thought it sounded cute.

When we named our daughter Hudson (2003), the name was neither female or male...
She loves her name. Loves that it’s unique and strong. And she’s far from a tomboy - she’s a ballerina.
Hudson Kiera - she owns her name and has made it her own. Couldn’t be happier with our choice for her.

To all the people who are saying that naming a girl a unisex or opposite sex name will make her lose her identity or make her life difficult in some bizarre way, you’re 100% WRONG and completely ignorant. My name is Blake, and I am a woman. I love my name and how it’s usually used for boys. I love that it is different. I love not having a cookie-cutter typical girl’s name. I always get complimented on my name. I love the name Hudson for a girl! I don’t understand why people have such a strong opposition to girls’ having unisex or opposite sex names... It’s not your child. It’s rude to say such harsh things when stating your opinions.. & yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there is no reason to be so rude when stating that you don’t like the "trend" that is unisex names or opposite names for girls. I’m 24 years old with a typically used boy’s name.. So this is apparently a very long "trend".
To the ignorant person that said "what happens when someone calls your daughter Mr. Hudson _____ or when she gets a boyfriend and he has to say he’s dating Hudson _____".. Are you serious? Are you kidding me?? You sound so completely idiotic. People call me "sir" or "Mr. Blake _____" all the time, & it just makes me laugh and I correct them. It has not affected my life negatively in any way. And my boyfriend loves my name BECAUSE it is different.. If a guy is embarrassed of you because of your name, he is clearly not worth the time anyway.
The name Hudson for a girl is absolutely lovely.
