You could always use Ari or Rison as a nickname for Garrison.

I know someone named Gerrick, like Derrick but with a G. I always thought it was different, but in a good way. Wdyt?

Gerrick is a good name just not one I would use I love the suggestion Ari and take it into consideration

Sonny could be another nickname for Garrison
(or any name ending in son for that matter)

If he’s set on it and your not, then you shouldn’t use it. You could make it the middle name and start again for the first name perhaps. Other suggestions:

Do not call your child Ari, Ari is often the nick name for Arianne or Arielle, which are BOTH girly. There is ALSO nothing wrong with Grayson, but Garrison is just a terrible name in general.
