Definitely LAY-lah.

If you want LEE-lah, Leela would be the most common spelling. Or, if you’re in eastern Europe, Lilla.

Sandra Bullock just named her daughter Laila and she pronounces it Lie-luh. Is that where you got the idea to do this poll?

Leila is like the word lei (the Hawaiian flower necklace) and "la" (like singing) put together. I don’t really see how you can get another pronunciation from it. Maybe in a different language?

I had a great aunt named Leila and it was pronounced Lee-I-la. While I know this is not the traditional pronunciation (Lay-la) I’ve always found it very pretty.

Just to clarify, she pronounced it Lee-i-la. My phone capitalized the I. - previous poster

I would pronounce it Lie-La, could also spell this Lilah; for the pronunciation Lay-La, my spelling would be Laila or Layla; I would pronounce Lila "Lil-ah"
