McKay ??? vs. Mackay ???
I really like the name for a male first name but can’t decide on the spelling and have no clue about middle names. Our first son has my husband’s first name as a middle name, and our second son has a variation of my middle name as his middle name. Since we got pregnant with this one "against the odds" a Biblical middle name might be appropriate...please help!!!
The Top Baby Name is...
McKay ??? Dixon
Mackay ??? Dixon

Did you just post this on Yahoo answers too? I don’t like it, sorry. But if I had to choose I would go with Mackay and call him Mack.

MacKay (then you can call him Mac). I do think this name is better for a middle name. It does sound a little feminine as a first name, and I’ve seen it on this sight as a girl’s name. But it’s up to you.
Maybe:
MacKay Jeremiah
MacKay Isaiah
MacKay Gabriel
MacKay Benjamin
MacKay Daniel
McKay Joshua
McKay Levi
McKay Paul
McKay Seth
McKay Jonathan
Like any? I still think McKay would make a better middle name, and all the options above sound better if you flip them around, just a thought!

I would go with the Mackay spelling b/c I think it looks less like a ln then.
For middle names, there are lots of against the odd people:
Isaac
Joseph & Benjamin
Samuel
John (the Baptist)

The name is ok, and I think it is unisex enough for a boy to pull it off. For a boy I would spell it Mackay. I personally dislike unisex names though.
I think the "Mc" and "Mac" may have a meaning, I’ve always heard it means the name is Irish if it is Mc and Scottish if it is Mac. Maybe you could research that if you care, and if the family has ancestry on either side maybe use that spelling. GL!!
