Sade vs. pronounced Sadie vs. single e theme
We love the name Sadie (spelled Sade). And we want to spell it that way as her older sisters’ names are Phoebe and Halle and so Sade has that same single e (ee sound). We want to know what you think. And we dont mind correcting people.
The Top Baby Name is...
Sade
pronounced Sadie
single e theme

I would maybe look for a name that follows the same pattern as her sisters and the pronunciation is well known. The pronunciation of Phoebe and Halle is pretty well known where as everyone is going to want to pronounce Sade how it looks and I don’t think thats very fair to her. While you may not mind correcting people, it is her name, and she may very well mind so I would either spell it Sadie or search for another name that ends in "e" thats pronunciation is obvious.

Sade is not pronounced like Sadie and shouldn’t be just because that is what you want. It has a history as a name that should be respected and not ignored because you have a theme. Pick something else.

I would pronounce it like the singer Sade. It’s pronounced something like Shah-day. But I guess if you don’t mind corrections, that’s OK. And Sade is not exactly a household name, so maybe I’m the only one who would do that.

I really dislike it with this spelling.Sorry, but people are always going to assume this name is said either like it rhymes with made, fade, jade etc. or like the singer sha-day.
Even if you say now that you don’t mind correcting people,it’s going to get old really quick and your Daughter might find it really frustrating.
There are other names that end in just E rather than IE.Why not try something like Daphne for example.

I would pronounce Sade like made. So I’d go with Sadie or find something else. Sadie still ends with the same sound and letter as Phoebe and Halle so I don’t see a pattern problem with it.

I would pronounce it like "made" as well. Sade wouldn’t be pronounced Sadie and she would go her whole life correcting people. You may not mind, but she might. I would either just use Sadie or find another name that can use a single "e".

Do you really need to have a theme? If you like the name Sadie, then spell it this way. Your daughter will have to correct people her whole life and it will become a bit of a burden. The pronounciation of Sade is not Sadie, it’s Sayd.

I definitely prefer Sadie. I don’t think themes are very important.
