I would stick with Ellie. I have a friend that spells it Elle, but I always want to just pronounce is "el".

A woman at my church spells it Eli, but in my opinion that is the boys name Eli (E-lye). I like Ellie and Elly. What about maybe Elleigh?

Definitely keep it spelled Ellie! That’s the prettiest spelling and how most people will intuitively spell the name. Elly, Elley, and Elleigh look very silly IMO. Altering the spelling of a name doesn’t make it any more "unique" or "different", it just makes your child’s life harder.

Ellie is a beautiful name and deserves to keep the beautiful spelling she comes with.
