I would go with piers. They are both beautiful names but I can’t hep but think about a navy brig, when I hear the name Briggs. Good luck with your choices :)

Piers is so handsome and dashing. Love it. I pronounce it the same way as Pierce / Pearse, with an "s" sound on the end. Is that how you are saying it? Just curious. It’s a variant of Peter, meaning "rock."

My son's name is Aaron Matthew Briggs which is pretty cool and when he was dedicated at our Church Aaron was meant to be either 'anointed one' or 'dedicated one' (I think it was the former. My name is Graham Henry Briggs, with my middle name sounding like it comes from the Middle Ages. Apparently Graham is a derivative of a Scottish surname - Graeme.

However I once looked the surname of Briggs up and was informed it was a derivate of Briggyse or Bryggse which apparently is either part or fully French.
