Philippa vs. Phillipa
I’ve always spelled this name Phillipa, and that’s honestly what looks right to me, but when I’ve been telling people I plan on naming my baby this they all insist on spelling it Philippa, which I think looks kind of odd. I don’t want to set her up to be spelling her name for everyone her entire life. Which version should I use?

Either is a valid variant. According to behindthename.com, the double P is the Latinate feminine form of Philip while the single [removed]imply the feminine form. The double L is a third variant if you really want to get into it. Just pick the one you prefer, she’s going to have to correct some of the people some of the time no matter what

Philippa! I genuinely prefer this spelling because it just looks right and it lends itself to the nickname Pippa if you are so inclined :)
Philippa is "correct" I guess but Phillipa is more aesthetically appealing.

What about Piper instead? That’s a less outdated, more usable name with not so many spelling variations!
