I don’t know how to say it, is to Boon or Bow-on? I’m not a massive fan and I think there will be a lot of people who aren’t sure how to say it.
I think either pronunciation is ok, I like it’s flow with Scarlett Jean.

I guess it’s not my cup of tea, it’s boy all the way for me. Scarlett Jean is cute. Have you considered Wren or Ren?

Oh man, I just can’t see it on a girl...there was a guy on my dorm hall in college named Boone and he was exactly what you’d expect from the name Boone: a real man’s man, hunter, fun-loving, football-watching, beer-drinking Southern boy. Nicest guy you’d ever meet with real Southern manners. I dunno, I can only see it on a guy like that now...

Not a fan of it and I like more unconventional names for girls. It is always important to remember it isn’t about what you like the best but what is in the best interest of the child.

It may have a nice meaning, but it’s clearly a boy’s name. I can’t see it on a girl.
Scarlett Jean gets my vote.

Yes, of course I know that names don’t have personalities. I’m just saying that people have certain associations with words and names. That’s why when people ask for a certain type of name, you can answer them. Like someone asking for classic, traditional names or more Southern, country names or spunky, quirky names. If people didn’t have these associations, this site wouldn’t even work. All I’m saying is that because of my associations, I can’t picture this name on a girl at all. You don’t have to imply that I’m a moron, you know.

Boon is the word. Boone was the last name of frontiersman Daniel Boone and will be associated mainly with him.

It could see it working for a southern girl! I know girls named Montgomery "Monty" (Given her mom’s maiden name), Bo/Beau, and Shane nn Shaney.(Shane-E). I LOVE it! But even Scarlett Jean on it’s own is great!

It feels extremely masculine to me.
I immediately make two associations with it.
1.Daniel Boone of course.
2.The male character Boone played by Ian Somerhalder on Lost.
I just can’t imagine it on a girl.

Boone is not a unisex name. It’s definitely a boys’ name. I would either choose another name that means blessing or just use Scarlett Jean which is lovely. Best of luck.

Bo and lettie could work as nicknames and Scarlett Jean make me kinda like Boone more. But have other names meaning blessed . You could use the bless as a name Scarlett bless Jean

Boone does not mean blessing. Boone is derived from the French word "Bon" meaning "good".

Not a fan...what about Bonnie? It has a similar sound and is also unusual, but it’s a girls’ name. Bonnie Scarlett Jean would be really sweet! If you want a unisex name, Blair, Britton or Bellamy would be cute too

kinda grotesque on a girl, nothing feminine or even unisex about it, its a surname and all anyone will think of is Daniel Boone - and the definition of the surname is from the name Bone meaning "thin, bony" from Old English. It has nothing to do with the French bon.
