How to Honor the vs. Name Coy

My husband and I have recently lost a really good friend, Coy. We are expecting, and would love to honor Coy in the name of our child. We are very unsure how to do so. We do not know if we are expecting a boy or a girl, but would love to honor him either way. Please help us out! It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Cora and Steven.

You could always use as a middle name for either gender.
For a boy, you could use McCoy as first or middle.
For a girl, maybe Coyla?

For a boy you could do Troy, Malloy or use Coy as nickname for a longer name like Cornelius or Corbin.
For a girl you could do Joy, or do the same nickname thing for Cossette or Cordelia (though I know your name is similar).

Use the letters as initial with a double middle name:
