Not a fan. I like more masculine and unisex names for girls just not a fan of this one. I know Locklyn is also a popular alternative then using the male Lachlan.

If you love it and you’re husband loves it thats all that should matter! I think its really cute and different!

I thought about spelling it Locklyn but I’m a fan of the traditional spelling of names. I’m just not sure...

Personally, I wouldn’t use a name that was mostly used on the opposite gender because I know that it can put a burden on the child to constantly clarify their name and gender and deal with comments like "why did your parents give you a "boy"/"girl" name?" Even if you love the name, I would definitely consider how it will effect your child before using it. May I suggest Leighton? It’s similar and is also unisex, but is more heard of on girls, so it’s less likely that your daughter would have to deal with people telling her that her parents gave her a boys name. Best of luck!

If you don’t care then use it, but yes people will judge. Just as they do with any name. If you are going for unisex there are other options. Lachlan is hugely popular for boys in Australia.

I’d save it for a boy and select a girls name for your little girl.
