Seems made up to me and kind of reminds me of Tupperware. If you like the nickname Penny, maybe Penelope, Persephone, Temperance?

Yes! I love this name. Very Agatha Christie. And Penny works beautifully as a nickname. On the other hand, if you choose not to use Tuppence as the given name, it can be used as an adorable nickname.

Not a fan at all. It’s not attractive in any way and it’s way too weird. Also reminds me of Tupperware. "Tuppence, do you sell Tupperware?" Even if she has Penny as a nickname, if she decides later that she doesn’t like it or she feels that she has outgrown it, Tuppence won’t be a very nice name to fall back on in my opinion.

Tuppence is not really a great name. It comes from "two pence", British money.

A bit of a "cheap name". Literally.

Tuppence is commonly used as a term of endearment, often for someone who is petite. Kind of like calling someone "small fry" or "little bit". I think it’s adorable but it doesn’t seem to translate well here in the US. I used it once for a kitten and was mostly met with blank stares when I told people its name.

Umm... Tupperware??

I don’t like it personally especially knowing it’s an old euphemism for [removed]!

Oh it was removed lol OK it’s a euphemism for lady parts!

I think of the song from Mary Poppins where the bird lady sings "tuppence for birds." Tuppence = 2 cents so "Penny" as a nickname makes sense. But while Penny is usable, Tuppence sounds old and stuffy kind of like Temperence or Trudy or Prudence. I’d just use Penny if that’s what you like.

Yes, it’s gorgeous. Anyone that thinks only of Tupperware is really uneducated. Tuppence is a lovely, classy name. But since everyone insists on teasing it, how about it for a middle name? It’s a shame, I would love to use it personally and it would be so cool if you used it... but I guess it has to stay as a middle name.

Delightful name, not sure how or why anyone makes the tupperware connection, very bizarre and tenuous link.

Lovely name from Tuppence and Tommy the Agatha Christie characters.
