Middle names & vs. Spelling of vs. Laylani/Leylani

Hi, we are expecting baby number 6 (our last) a girl. We have chosen Laylani/Leylani nn Layla as her first name. We aren’t sure on spelling or a middle name. Which spelling do you prefer and would you pronounce them both the same or differently. Also, any middle name suggestions would be much appreciated. She is joining Theodore (Theo) Patrick, Gabriel (Gabe) Oscar, Charlotte (Charlie) Audrey, Edward (Ed) Ryan and Victoria (Tori) Eve. Thanks so much in advance.

I like Leylani better. By the way some of these middle and first name combos I’ve suggested sound better with just Layla.

Leylani Brielle (Layla Brielle sounds better together)
Leylani Hope
Leylani Ameilia
Leylani Samantha
Leylani Rose
Leylani Coral
Leylani Margo
Leylani Alexis
Leylani Pearl

I’d probably go with the Hawaiian spelling which is Leilani. It is still pronounced lay-lani

As commenter #2 points out, Leilani is a Hawaiian name. The Hawaiian alphabet doesn’t have the letter y. Leilani/Leila is clearly the way to go.

Thank you to commenter 2 and 3. I actually didn’t know it was Hawaiian, so thanks for letting me know. I think we will go with Leilani but still Layla for the nickname. Also thanks to commenter 1 - Brielle is looking good.

I agree that Leilani is the way to go. To be consistent, I’d use Leila as the spelling of the nickname. It’s still pronounced like Layla.
