Francesca Kate vs. Penelope Kate
I’ve posted many times :) The baby will either be named Francesca or Penelope and I’ve decided for several reasons the middle name is now non-negotiable as it’s a shortened form of my name and I think deserve it, lol. We never call our son by both names and his middle name has meaning too so that’s that!
I’ve grown to love both names. My husband likes both first names with preference to Penelope. However, both sets of our parents are obsessed with Francesca and are really pushing it.
I’d like to know what people think of the names, but more so what you would do when your family has become involved.
We aren’t naming her for certain until we see her (Next week c-section!). I know my husband will support either choice..but now in the back of my mind when I see my baby and want to choose I feel like I will either slightly disappoint our family or my husband... what to do... don’t want any regrets.

I like Francesca, really just from the viewpoint that if I could choose between the two for myself, it would be the one I would choose. As for your family, know that they will love the beautiful baby, no matter the name, and it won’t be a concern after they see her cute face!

I absolutely love Francesca and I like Penelope, so I would vote for Francesca Kate; HOWEVER, it doesn’t really matter that both sets of grandparents are pushing for Francesca---they have had their turn naming their kids and now it is yours. You say you love both names and that while your husband likes both, he prefers Penelope. Honestly, I would worry more about disappointing your husband than your parents and in-laws. As soon as they get to hold your newborn daughter, they will fall in love with her no matter what her name is.
I’d just worry about taking it easy until the birth and not stressing. If you’re not naming her until you see her, maybe you and your husband will just KNOW as soon as she’s in your arms what her name should be. It should be a choice only between the two of you, not anyone else, even if they are related to you. I think that’s the way that will lead to no regrets. Good luck to you both :)

I love Penelope Kate-it’s so spunky!
Plus it’s far more important to go with your Husband’s favorite name over any other family member’s favorite in my opinion.

If you love both names and he loves Penelope then go with Penelope! It’s HIS child and YOUR child not their child. You can always use Francesca on a future child if you have another. You should go with Penelope though.

Penelope has the spanish word "pene" which means male genitals, if that concerns you.
