Ramey Alyssa vs. Ramey ?

Baby girl is due on December 20th! I like Remy but my husband likes Rae. We dislike the sound or Remy-Rae. So when we found Ramey(ray-mee) we knew it was perfect for her because it combines the names we love whoch makes us love it even more! We are having provlems finding a middle name we can both agree on though. We kinda like Alyssa but my MIL is named Alice and neither one me or my husband get along with her 90% of the time so I don’t really want family members to think we named our daughter after her. Can you suggest middle names please? Ramey stays as her first name no matter what though! Thanks. ~Leah

Are you set on the spelling? Ramey looks like it would be pronounced Ram-y. Like someone who rams into things...maybe Raemy or Raimey? They are more likely to get the pronounciation you like. Middle name ideas:

I agree it looks like it would be pronounced Ram-y. I know it’s staying but if you want an opinion, I don’t like the sound. If you don’t like Rae, why would you like Raymie. How about Raylee?

I would definitely pronounce this name Ram-me. I would change the spelling or her name will constantly be said wrong.

I never said that I dislike Rae. I just like Remy more and and my husband likes Rae more but we don’t like Remy-Rae so Ramey is a much better compromise because we actually like the sound of it. It stays, thanks though. Raylee is too similar to my nephew’s name Reilly anyways. Ramey is originally a surname so I doubt it will be said wrong that often just because a few people on here do. We will go to a few our local schools and ask around town and see how most people will automatically pronounce it and then maybe reconsider the spelling but honestly would prefer to stick with the correct, original spelling. We like Louise, Brielle, Charlotte, Abigail, Jennifer, Delilah, Joy, Jasmine, Lenae, Scarlett for her middle name. Thanks. ~Leah
