Carowyn vs. Luella/Llewella vs. Elowen vs Briellen/Briallen
Or Llewellyn for a girl? Its me again, and I was looking for a name that sounds like Llewellyn for a girl (since I love Llewellyn for a boy but am having a girl). Since its so uncommon, could I use Llewellyn for a girl? We’re still holding on to Briellen, even though a lot of y’all didn’t like it. Elowen is gorgeous, but may be a bit common now...WDYT? do you know any other names?

I love Elowen. It is definitely not too common, it’s rather unique I’d say. I do like Luella though!

(1) Llewella
(2) Louella
(3) Briallen
Llewella is the feminine form of Llewellyn. I realize Llewellyn sounds feminine to anyone not familiar with Welsh names. But still, I’d prefer to leave it for parents of little boys. Llewella is enchanting in its own right.
Elowen is lovely, although I worry about pronunciation. The stress should be on the second syllable. Sorry, but Carowyn reminds me of caraway seeds and feels very made-up. If it’s not I’m happy to learn a new Welsh name. There is Caerwyn, but it’s masculine. I’d stick to Llewella. Good luck! :0)

Luella is stunning and so rare. While Elowen is pretty, the EL name trend is overdone these days. Llewellyn is too manly. Briellen/Briallen is not flaterring at all and honestly is just a big eye sore to look at. And Carowyn is just unappealing all together.

P.S. You may like Eirwen ("EHR-wen") meaning snow white, Eirlys ("EHR-lis") meaning snow drop, or Olwen ("OLE-wen") meaning white foot. In Welsh folklore, the character of Olwen was so fair she left a path of white flowers wherever she walked. :0)
Luella.
