Ami vs. Amy

Hi! We're naming our little girl Amelie and we're thinking about nickname possibilities. Mimi is another contender at the moment, but what we'd like some advice on is whether Amy (Ae-mee) or Ami (Am-ee) works best. Ami works pronunciation wise I think - and we think it's adorable - but Amy is a more established name that she might like to use. Thoughts? Thank you

The Ami I know is a guy so I lean toward Amy.

I prefer Ami because Amelia is pronounced with the Am-ee at the start instead of Ae-mee. It just makes more sense.

I just don't like the name Amy so I put Ami but I do like it! Another idea (if you want) is Millie or Lia

I think Amy is best. I know a girl with Ami as a nickname but she pronounces it the same as Amy. Good luck!
