Ava is Ay-vah to me, not Eh-va. To me Eh-va and ev-va are roughly the same. I think that's what the OP is getting at, but I can't be sure.
To be honest, I don't think you'll get a spelling that works for the way you like it said, so you may as well spell it Eva and just correct people or use Ever.

I think Evva is your best bet to get the pronunciation that you want. Eva I would pronounce with a long E.

In all honesty there are no spellings that would look good and give you the EH-vuh pronuncation. If you want it said that way you will have to go with a spelling that won't look as good.

If everyone says anything differently, then the eh sound doesn't necessarily make an a sound?
Unless you are the poll poster clarifying how you want it said, in which case if you say eh as a then spell it Ava.
Assuming you are not the poll poster, Eva but saying it the Spanish/Italian/Danish way seems best. Or Evah, I suppose, although I don't like extra Hs on the end when they're not needed.
