Maggie vs. Molly

We are expecting a little girl in April. We have decided to name her after my mom whose name is Mary. We will be using a variation of Mary but can't decide which name we like more. Please vote for either Maggie or Molly. We are not looking for any other name suggestions. Thank you!

I actually knew sisters in high school, both named Mary but one went by Molly and the other Maggie. I prefer Molly over Maggie

Maggie is a nickname of Margaret. Margaret is in the Mary family of names. Thus Maggie is indeed a variation of Mary.

I've never heard of Maggie as a nickname of Mary. Mary and Margaret have different meanings.
Nicknames that I know of for Mary are: Mamie, Molly, and Polly.
There are other variations of Mary though, like: Mara, Maria, Marie, Mariah, Maura, Moira, Miriam etc.

I picked Molly. I felt Maggie would seem a little off on a girl unless it was a nickname for Margaret.
