I know a girl with the name Mayra who pronounces it My-Ruh. She puts emphasis on the first syllable when she introduces herself, but her mother puts emphasis on the second, to where it almost sounds like a "rr" where the r in the -ruh part is rolled a bit.

Just a thought if you like the Mayra spelling, but the My-Ruh pronunciation - it can work either way!
