I'd pronounce them differently.. Alaya - al-ay-ah, Alaia - al-eye-ah (like Maia)

If you're pronouncing it that way ^ then do not use Alaia, it doesn't make sense as that is al-eye-ah

I know this is old, but I'm responding for any others that might look at this later. It is actually *not* pronounced all different ways. Alaia is a Basque name, and it is traditionally pronounced al-eye-uh. People can try changing the pronounciation if they want, but the original- and correct- pronounciation is that one. Now Alaya can be pronounced either al-eye-uh or al-ay-uh. I think it's more commonly pronounced al-ay-uh, but depending on where you're from it can have the other pronounciation as well.
