Haisel vs. Hasel vs. Hazel
I have one daughter, Elanor, named after the bright yellow "star flower" from Lord of the Rings. I have been toying with Hazel for our second daughter for awhile, and while I love the sound, I'm not a fan of the z, or the root "haze" at all. I'm not sure why, it just isn't very appealing to me. And with Elanor being spelled unconventionally I thought perhaps Hazel should as well. Are Haisel and/or Hasel too ridiculous/weird? Or perhaps Haysel, or Haisle? Or should I just get over myself and spell it Hazel? Please help!
The Top Baby Name is...

Hasel
Hazel

Hmm. What about Elanor and Sage? Sage is loosely similar in sound to Hazel, and has the same nature-y theme, and sounds nice with Elanor. Let Hazel be, lol.

Elanor is an interesting/ cool name. Hazel has gotten very popular. I'd go in a different direction.

Haisel is phonetic and unique looking but not weird! The best non-conventional choice overall. Hasel looks like it would be pronounced "hassle". Haisle looks like it be said "haze-lee". Haysel just looks a little made up.

Maybe pick a different name. I don't think you can avoid the haze with Hazel. I think you could choose an unconventional spelling, but I think it should have a reason, like Elanor does. You didn't just make up Elanor, so I know that I'd advise making up your own spelling on Hazel. (If there is another spelling out there, I don't know it.)

Poster 4, you're right. I hadn't fully thought of that. Elanor is unconventional, but with reason. Poster 1, I do like Sage, thank you. I think I'll drop Hazel and look for other names...hmm...

Don't make the poor girl's life harder than it has to be.

Since you already have a softer side of Elanor, I think Hasel will be a beautiful addition.

Hasel and Haisel are not appealing to look at sorry. And with it being so common these days she will always be correcting people because they will all be used to spelling it Hazel.

Do I have to be the one to say that "Hasel" reminds me of hassle?
