I personally really like Prudence :) It's cute, off-beat, easy to spell and pronounce and unique.

I also like Joy!

Some of these obviously won't work so well as a first name, but here are a list of virtues:

I actually don't think that Prudence is such a bad name. It isn't my personal style, but it definitely isn't a bad name! Is has a wonderful meaning and it has a long history of usage. If you like the name Prudence, than I think that you should use it.

Another suggestion is Carita. This comes directly from Latin "caritas," which means "love or charity." =)

Whatever you decide, she will have a lovely name, I'm sure! I llve that you are trying to give her a virtue name!

I like Constance, Amity, Joy, Verity, Mercy, Justice, Clemency, Honor, Blythe, and Temperance. I never thought of Carita. Thanks! I do like Prudence, but one poster said it was bad because of the potential of teasing potential (prude Prudence) and another said it reminded them of prunes.

I really like Prudence.

The thing with names is that every name has teasing potential. People are very creative and if they want to make fun of somebody's name, they'll find a way to do it. Even the most common names can have teasing potential. I realized that when I was worrying about Cyrus being called Cyrus the virus. Then I heard a kid in the grocery store being called Cyrus the virus by his sister. It seemed like my fears were confirmed. Except the kid turned around and called his sister Spacey Gracie and I realized that any name could be used that way. So we went with Cyrus for our boy name.

If you love Prudence, go for it. It's a legit name with lots of history and there's nothing wrong with it. I happen to think it's cute.
