Oaken??? vs. Oaken???

I just met a little boy named Oaken, which I'd never heard before, and I'm really starting to like this name. I like Oakley but I don't like that it's gotten unisex and Oak or Oakes seems incomplete. Oaken seems like a good Oak- name that isn't unisex. I'm curious about other people's thoughts.

Ooh I actually really like this name! I'm a fan of names that aren't super common, and Oaken is right up my alley. Oaken Michael, Oaken Joseph, and Oaken James sound really good together in my opinion, but it is ultimately your decision to make. Congratulations!

My son is Oakley nn Oaks. He's the only Oakley we've ever come across, it's so uncommon here we always get comments on how unique it is.
I quite like Oaken too

I like it. I would go with a more common middle name though. Just like poster 3 suggested. Oaken Joseph is very nice.

Thank you for your comments. I wasn't even considering middle names yet and all these, including Oaken, would have to be run past my hubby. But from the suggestions I like these.

Not really. It doesn't say "name" to me; it says "oaken table" or "oaken armoire."

I think it's a great name. There are people who call their children Primrose and Crystal etc which are tacky but Oaken is handsome

I love this name as it is my name. My name is Oaken Zacharia Mulholland and I have always loved the fact that it is strong and unique.
It also works perfectly because I am a carpenter/tree surgeon.

Oaken is an amazing name. The SECOND I saw Oaken online (from Adkin) I was obsessed. I've wanted to use the name 'ken' since it's on all sides of our family but oaken gives it that extra uniqueness that people still completely understand. Oak is the sacred European tree so it's got nice meaning to it for me.
