Full Names vs. For Girl Nickname vs. Leni ?
My dad's name was Lenny(passed away 2 years ago) and we would like to name our first child after him. We are having a girl and were going to still spell it Lenny but then we saw Leni somewhere on here and decided to use it instead. Now we are looking for possible full names for her! We do NOT like Leonora! We like Eleanor but don't love it. Any ideas? Her middle name has not been decided yet and our surname is Brooks! Thanks. ~Samantha

I actually used to have a friend with the name Elena but it is said eh-lay-nuh, we still hang out every now and then with some mutual friends so I doubt we would use that one. I've never heard it said el-en-uh before either. We do like the names Eleni, Ellen, Kalena(how would this be pronounced?) and Marlena! Thanks.

Also, how are you pronouncing Leni? I've only ever heard it pronounced like Lainey (its German, I think) not like Lenny

There is a kid's TV show as well with a female character named Leni said exactly like Lenny. My husband just brought that up, he said his neohew told him about it. I think he said it's called the Loud House or something like that. And we would be pronouncing it like Lenny. I don't really feel like it would actually honor my father if it wasn't said like his name.
Could either Penelope or Emmeline work? I know it would be an obvious nickname but we really like both of those.

Leni is an actual Greek name that means sun ray. It is also a form of Helen but that might be too much of a stretch for you. Heidi Klum named her daughter Helene "Leni".

Could Penelope or Emmeline work? We really like those two but aren't sure if they are too far of a stretch! We don't really like LYN endings are changing LYN, LAN, etc. endings to LEN. Thanks though.
