Isla vs. Iyla vs. another spelling

We love the name Isla - I mentioned it and my partner loves it - however, I want to spell it Isla while my partner wants to spell it Iyla. Which spelling do you prefer or do you know of any other alternative spellings.

Isla is the actual way of spelling it and I think it just looks better. There would probably be a lot of confusion with the spelling Iyla. Isla Drew would be perfect!

My daughter is Isla Daphne, Isla was never even on my list I was pretty sure I was going with either Lyla or Mila (pronounced Myla) and the day I had her I still hadn't decided and my sister suggested Isla. I fell in love with it! Such a beautiful name.
I do like the spelling Iyla but it looks like Lyla with a lower case L so there might be some confusion, Iyla also might get pronounced ee-la

I prefer Isla, it's very cute and I love it! But if your parter really does not like Isla you could try

We used to have a scout leader years ago with this name. She spelled it Ila. Being bilingual in Spanish/English, I always think EES-lah when I see Isla.

Iyla looks ignorant, tbh. In fact it looks more like lyla (Lyla). Isla is by far prettier. Ila looks like ill-uh.
