Thoughts on vs. Henry Alexander

Our sweet baby boy was born on Sunday and we are absolutely in love with him. We announced his name to our family after he was born telling everyone we named him Henry Alexander. My family loved the name and thinks it fits our baby boy perfectly, but my husband's family is disappointed in the name saying that it sounds like a name for someone's grandpa and that we should have went with something more modern like Ayden, Jayden, or Kayden. Did we make a mistake with naming our son Henry Alexander? We are still in love with the name but my husband's family is still making comments about how disappointed they are and making fun of the name we have chosen. We would love your thoughts on Henry Alexander.

There is nothing wrong with Henry Alexander for a boy. It's a handsome name and fits a boy/man of all ages, IMO.

Congrats on your baby boy!!!! Good grief, where does your hubby's family live? Henry and other " old-fashioned" names have been coming back for awhile now. You've picked the perfect name. Stick to it, and tell them no negative remarks are to be made about Henry's name in front of him!

Henry Alexander is beautiful! It fits an adult better than Ayden/Jayden/Kayden/Hayden, but it also sounds absolutely marvelous on a little boy! I have a nephew named Henry(6) and we have lots of cute little nicknames like Hems, Hemmy, and Hemmy Boy. They could call him by a nickname like that if they don't like his name. Soon, though, they will love it because they love him, and it won't matter what his name is.

Henry Alexander is classy.
Jayden Kayden &Ayden are not classy at all and I think are becoming outdated. Henry and Alexander are currently popular. The old is now the refreshed new. If you like Henry Alexander that's what counts & shame on them for trying to sabotage your choice.

When I saw the name I loved it instantly. Fabulous name. And. It's. Not. Their. Child. Period. They named their children. Your turn to name yours.

Aiden and its rhyming names are far overused and sound extremely obnoxious in my opinion. Henry Alexander is so much better-- it is timeless and will age well. Don't listen to them.

You absolutely did not make a mistake! If you love the name Henry Alexander then there you go. You love it for your child, that's all that matters. Henry will age very well with him in the long run which I'm sure he will appreciate being among the kids that will have more modern and even some made up names that will only look "cute" on children.

I love it so classy and timeless. Henry is actually rising it popularity too! It's adorable and if you love it that's all that should matter.

I think you did a wonderful job naming your child. Aiden/Jaden/Kaden, while cool-sounding, are getting trendy, while Henry is timeless. Congrats on your new baby!
