I like Bellamy for a girl, not a boy.

My daughter's name is Bellamy Alexandra and I know another little girl named Bellamy Faith. Though I know it is traditionally a French boy's name meaning "beautiful friend," it always seemed overtly feminine to me, especially by American standards. If you're using it for a boy, I would definitely use a very strong, masculine middle name.

This name isn't girly at all
Who cares if you know or have a girl with the name ! Geez. She likes it for a boy and so do I. I find the name completely masculine.

Sorry, I just don't like this for a boy! It's unisex, but way more feminine than masculine, like Ashley. I agree with the above poster that if you do wind up using it, use a VERY masculine middle name. Nothing that's unisex like the name Bellamy.

I wouldn't consider this solely a boy name or girl name. It's unisex. I've heard this name on both boys and girls. Like a lot of unisex names, it began as a boy's name, but over time it sort of morphs into a name for both genders. I think because it has "Bella" in it and ends in a "y" people find it more feminine because those are more indicative of girl names. That will just have to be something to deal with it you choose this name. At the end of the day, people will judge names no matter what, so just pick what you like!

It's too masculine to be a girl name
Everyone loves boy names for girls. Why ?
Someone on here told me not to name my son James because it's a trendy girl name ! Please.
