Tegan seems more feminine so I like that version better.

I believe it is the Welsh Tegan, though, that is pronounced like Megan if you are looking for that pronunciation.

Tegan is the girl's name. It is Welsh for "fair" (meaning beautiful). Both names mean beautiful (Teagan means poet or handsome), so I think you just mixed up which language was which.

Tegan is more recognizable--not just in popular culture, with Tegan and Sara, but it has a historical meaning too. Look up the Arthurian figure Tegan Eurfruon or Tegan Goldbreast. She was pretty awesome. She had one of the 13 great treasures of the isle of Britain (according to legend), and sort of faught a serpent.

I don't know any background on these names but I just think that Tegan looks more pleasant, however, I think both spellings are fine.

Teagan is an Irish unisex name meaning "poet"; Teagan is a similar Welsh girls' name meaning "beautiful". Both can be pronounced either TEG-an (rhymes with the Welsh / Irish Megan) or TEA-gan.

Tegan can also be pronounced Tay-gan, like Regan. I knew one girl named Tegan (tee-gan) when I was in high school and I've had a sogt spot for it ever since. It really is a lovely name!

Tegan ("TEG-un," rhyming with Megan) gmv. It's a Welsh girl's name meaning "fair," similar to Tegwen.

Teagan ("TEE-gun") is a variant of Tadhg / Tighe, an Irish boy's name meaning "poet." I prefer to keep Teagan for boys. Good luck! :0)
