Spelling help needed! Soriya(seh-ry-uh) is a Cambodian name meaning "sun" and it honors my family heritage being mostly Cambodian(born in the US) myself. My husband is pretty much full American and is worried that Soriya will often be said (sor-ee-uh) instead since it has a similar ending look to names like Aaliyah(uh-lee-uh). He suggested we spell it Soraia or Soraya instead to make it look like Maia/Maya. I'm worried that Soraya will be said (sor-ay-uh) despite it looking like Maya. Which do you think will be easier for pronunciation? Dawn is my mother-in-law's middle name so it is set in stone for our daughter's middle name. If you think Soriya will be too difficult either, way are open to other CAMBODIAN/KHMER name suggestions to see if we can find another we love. First name must be Cambodian/Khmer. Thanks. ~Dara
