V middle names vs. for vs. Liane/Lian

I am naming my daughter Liane or Lian pronounced Lee- AWN (stress on second syllable). It means lotus flower in Chinese, and I love the name. I would like a V middle name to go with it. My favorites are: Valentina, Victoria, Veronica, Vanessa, Vera, Venetia, Violet, and Vienna. What would go best, and also what do you think of the first name? -Marie

I would spell it Lian, but I think she will still have problems with people saying it wrong. Could you spell it more phonetically and still keep the meaning? I can’t figure out how to spell it, but you may want to try.

I know what you mean, I was kind of worrying about that. However I don’t think I can change the spelling drastically without changing the meaning. So i might just have to keep it the way it is.

Liawn? I think it if you spell it Liane people will say (lee-anne) like diane. I guess just spell it Lian and people will get it eventually. At least it is short so when she says it and people ask her to spell it it won’t be too much hassle. They will get used to it. My daughter’s name is Avery and people manage to say that wrong so nothing is "easy" I guess.

Oh and I like Violet best for a mn. I am not feeling the mn ending in A with that fn. Except maybe Vienna. I would like Lian Valentine, but not sure how I feel about the holiday reference.

Thanks, I think thats the spelling I’ll go with (Lian) because I don’t like Leeann and don’t want it to be pronounced that way more than it already will be. By the way I like your daughters name Avery, it’s very pretty. I’m surprised people would pronounce it wrong. Middle name ideas/combos please?

Lian Veronique
Lian Claire
Lian Elizabeth
Lian Maire
Lian Virtue
Lian Viola

I looked in my baby name book, not a lot of V options. That is the best I can do with the Vs.
That is a tough one!

Thanks for the suggestions, I like Lian Claire but I don’t think it flows that well. I put a couple of V names that I like a lot in the "info box," so you can use those for combos. The V middle name is a family thing.

Liane Venetia sounds rich as it rolls off the tongue. But think about your last name with these. Also a tip, try practicing the name for a couple days. Pick a combination and use it occasionally as if that was actually what you’d be choosing.
