Nicknames for vs. Marielle?

So I totally love the name Marielle. Pronounced Mary-Elle, not Mahr-ee-el. What nicknames could I do for this name? I really want Mar, but it isn't right since the pronunciation isn't with Mar. I don't really like Mari as a nickname. Elle would be okay or Ellie or Ella. Or Ri? What do you think? Any other suggestions for nicknames? I really want the nickname to be "Mare" since it's Marielle, but mare's meaning is horse so I'm not sure.

I'd avoid Elle, Ella and Ellie because they are way too common.
I like Mare.
Horse isn't an issue.
