Swiper seems the most logical choice. I wouldn't name a dog index or even Dapper. I do't even know why Index would be on a name list even for a dog. But its a dog, not a child, so I guess Swiper works. How about: Nash, Ridge, Atlas, Ramsey/Ram or Hudson?

I like more sophisticated dog names rather than cute dog names. My dog will compete in dog sports and most sport dogs have sporty or sophisticated names

I like Swiper--it's hilarious, particularly for a counter surfer! (Of course, if he's a counter surfer, i wish you the best of luck in training him out of it.)

I really like Dapper! Some other ideas though!

For a mutt I have always loved the name Doger from Huckleberry Finn! I think it would suit him perfectly especially with brown fluffy hair!
