Charlie vs. Henry

I am still having a hard time deciding between these two names. I would love everyones opinion and the comments are very helpful. I am concerned that Charlie White may be teased about Charlie Brown.... am I paranoid? My husband thinks Henry is too formal and for that reason prefers Charlie.

I could definitely see somebody saying hey Charlie White where’s Charlie Brown? Why not Charles nn Charlie? That way I would let him decide what he wants to go by. I would Charles or Henry.

Charlie is much better then Henry..and all names can be made fun of...kids are very imaginative..A man dah...Amanda, Step on me..Stephanie..and if they can’t pick on the name they will find something else..don’t worry about what your kid might or might not have to deal with..just worry about what you like..if you like Charlie then go with Charlie if you like Henry then go that route..but I would personally Choose Charlie over Henry..hope I helped

I don’t like Charles but I love Charlie and I don’t think Charlie White is a big deal. It’s cute If he gets teased I’m sure it would be a minor issue and not hurtful teasing from friends:) I voted Henry but like both names:)

I think both are great names and both go equally well with your last name. What if you compromised and used one as the middle name? Charles Henry or Henry Charles? You could choose his nickname later.

Charlie White will definitely get a lot of Charlie Brown jokes. Henry is the best, by far. Charlie is a cute nickname for the ugly (and much more formal than Henry) Charles. Henry gives you a formal first name (and it’s not that formal. No more than John or William or Benjamin), with the adorable nickname Harry or just plain Henry. I adore the name Henry. I think it’s fantastic.

Where are you from? I know in the UK, they choose nicknames over full names but I am definitely an advocate for giving formal first names because I can’t envision Charlie ? White on a business card or on a college resume, and take that person seriously.

I like Henry a lot! I think it’s such a handsome name...not too "formal" at all! I would definitely go with that. and I agree that Charlie will probably get a lot of Charlie Brown jokes.
