Analeigh vs. yes vs. no

I posted Analeigh yesterday but someone brought to my attention Anal would be in her name. I still love the name so please give me your opinion. Would this be a noticeable thing? Should I spell it different? I don’t want to do Annaleigh because I feel people would then prounounce it Anna Lee intead of On a lee THANKS!

It is definitely noticeable to me! What about Ana-Leigh or Ana-Lee? I have a friend named Ana-Rae. Even a double name without the hyphen would be cute, like Ana Leigh. GL!!

I wouldn’t worry about it. Its an absolutely beautiful name that ages well. Go for it :)

It looks like a cross between anal and anally...I WOULD worry about it.

Some people have small minds but I guess that they mean the pre-teen ages. I think Analeigh is lovely.

yes Anal would happen a lot. Kids are kids and would you want your name to have the word Anal in it? Put yourself in your daughters shoes:) Not trying to be mean put trying to have you look at it in a different perspective.

I would pronounce it as ANN- A- Lee as would most people, I imagine. Also, Anal is noticable. Annabelle, Annalise would be be better. I also suggested Brookleigh on another poll. Do you like that? I think it’s actually very pretty! Brookleigh Ann is a beautiful set!

Brookleigh is so ugly! sorry! I think you should still use Analeigh or you could pronounce it different and spell it Annaleigh or Ana-Leigh.

I do love Annabelle but it rhymes with my last name I do like Annalise but not as much as Analeigh. I am not a huge fan of Brookleigh. Thanks though

Okay, what about Ella Lei like two names? I think it’s quite pretty! Or what about Anna Leigh as two names? I think some mean child will tease Analeigh with Anal, and it won’t be good. With Annalise, you can use the nn Lise when she gets older (or now!) which I think is stunning! What do you think of those? Let me know..

Oh! What about Aunaleigh? It eliminates the Anal teasing and prevokes proper spelling! I love it! Do you like it? Let me know!

Ella Lei is pretty also I don’t know. I agree with people about the anal but I don’t want to completley give up on the name. I am still going to think of other ways to spell it

Aunaleigh does not look pretty at all. But I agree with others that Analeigh will not be pronounced the way you want and Anal is bad. If you don’t like Annaleigh, I kind of like the suggestion of Ella Lei or Anna Lei as first names.

I think Aneleigh could work. Say it quickly, A-nel-lee. It may be mispronounced initially, but not after she says it. Also, gets rid of anal. Aunaleigh would sound like "AWN-a-lee" to me.

I think you should spell the name differently- looking at it I assumed it was pronounced Anna lee. Ahnalee, or Onalee. Very pretty, very unique name no matter how you spell it!

I would know how to pronounce the name correctly. The one N automatically says "on" to me....so that wouldn’t be an issue....but the Anal part is going to cause problems...and frankly, the other spellings just aren’t working out. They all look terrible. I would just give up on the name and go back to the drawing board. Sorry.

I love Analeigh, and I don’t think she would have to much trouble with it. As far as pronouncing it goes, I agree with the pp, and if someone says it wrong, just correct them :)

I am adopting a little girl and want the same name Analei, but my husband brought the "Anal" part to my attention too. I still love the name, but do not want it to be Anna either. I also didn’t want it to have two separate names like Ana Lei
