Meala vs. Mealan vs. Neither Sounds Great

What do you think of the names 'Meala' and 'Mealan' for a girl? 'Meala' is pronounced 'mee-YAH-lah' or 'may-AH-lah'. 'Mealan' is pronounced 'mee-LAHN' or 'mae-YAH-lahn'. All opinions are welcome.

Try Milan for an easier to pronounce but still uncommon name

It isn't so much that they don't sound great but they'd be very likely mispronounced by English speakers. I'm not familiar with either name and would have said MEE-la and MEE-len. Would changing the spelling be an option or are these spellings essential for meaning or heritage?

I believe the feminine name Mealla/Mella is pronounced as MEL-uh, while the masculine name Meallan/Mellan is pronounced as MEL-awn. Mella would be lovely. GL!

^ Just fyi - Miela (mee-E-la) & Millan (MEEL-lahn) are both feminine names that may be of interest. :-)
