Lenore vs. Leonor vs. Isador
Hello. Help with spelling or picking faves. These are names we really like for our girl. Shared with a friend who's also expecting. She said they sound like old lady names & can't picture a baby with them. These aren't weird are they in your opinion? I met a little girls named Agatha & Esther which did seem heavy to me then. It's just hard to find a name that doesn't sound like the all rest.
The Top Baby Name is...
Lenore
Leonor
Isador

Lenore gmv. Elegant and underused. Perfect.
I never understand the "it's too grown up sounding" complaint. Children grow up. Names are for a lifetime. If it's too formal then that's what nicknames are for.
I don't find any of the names are your list "old lady." (Caveat: I'm an old lady myself.) The only name I question is Isidor because Isidore is masculine. The feminine form is Isidora, no? Isidora would be in tough competition with Lenore, but I think Lenore would still win out. Good luck! :0)

I had a good friend named Lenore as a child. It is very pretty! I think all of the older classic names are making a comeback,Like Margot or Edith, I've met little girls with both. GL!

The first 2 are old ladyish but sound very much like Eleanor, which is becoming very trending because everyone is into the nickname Ellie. Isadore would be cute. You need the E on the end though, otherwise it just looks weird. I do love the suggestion of Isadora too.

I love Isadora. As others have said, Isidore is a boys' name. Both Lenore and Leonor are fine.

I vote Lenore!
Lenore is gorgeous! If you feel (or she feels) that is is too mature for a little girl, you could call her Lennie or Nora/Nor.
Leonor I would prefer as Leonore, or Leonora, but I think all are beautiful. Isador does seem like a boy's name, so I agree with many previous posters that Isadora is the way to go.

TY. I just like Isador better than Isadora. Our last name is long so it seems like a tongue twister with so many syllables. I dislike like Elly as a nickname which cuts out Eleanor. But something about Leonor seems so regal. And Isador is close to the too popular Isabel which I like a lot. It's so hard to cut any.
