Use the Waylon spelling and the ’whale’ issue won’t be a problem.

Yeah. Avoid the whale thing. If he’s little it will be a problem because of the irony. I’d go with Waylon/Waylan

Please do not use Whalen. He will be picked on. I like the name. Use Waylon or Waylan.

I Think Personally Whalon Is A More Unique Spelling! I Voted For It. Waylon Is More Common In Spelling. Either way I Still Like The Name & Whalon As The W Whale Less Spelling! Good Luck

Waylon. That will definitely eliminate the whale issue. I wouldn’t do the whale thing, no matter what size he will be. If he’s chubby, he will be tortured for it. I really don’t like this name at all, but if you’re set on it....How about Wayland?

My son’s name is Whalen. He was named after his Irish grandfather. No one has ever made fun of him to my knowledge or even made negative comments about the spelling. I don’t think it matters really. It sounds the same, so if someone is going to make fun of the name they will anyway.
