Which spelling for a boy? and why? i like dakoda, but i know its usually spelled the other way. if he ever had a nickname it would probably be kody

I think the d makes it more masculine, and does lend itself to the nickname.

I taught a boy whose given name was Koda. It’s also the name of a male bear on some disney movie from a few years ago. So I think it would work if you absolutely love Dakoda for a boy.

I’m not really a fan of Dakota at all on a boy...it looks feminine to me. I suppose either one would work if you plan to call him Kody anyway, they sound the same.

go with Dakoda its a lil different & you can call him kody for short instead of kota.
