I think Jamie would be a much nicer option to honour James for a girl.
Scarlett Jamie is very pretty imo. I prefer Ruby as a name to Scarlett (just think Scar is not a nice thing to have in a name) but Scarlett flows better with Jamie. Lettie would be a cute nickname option.

I prefer Ruby, but have always liked Lettie as a nn for Scarlett if you're that way inclined.
I seem to be one of the minority's who actually likes James as a girl option. Truthfully I prefer it to Jamie. Ruby James or even Scarlett James sound great to me

Not a fan of Scarlett. Too "Gone with the Wind" romance-novel-y for me. Distracting.
Instead of James, what about feminine forms: Jacqueline, Jacobina, Jacomina or Jamesina? If you're wondering how some of these count, it's because James was originally from Jacob. Over time it evolved like this: Jacob --> Jacobus (Latin) --> Jacomus (late Latin) --> James ("JAH-mes") --> James ("jaymz").
Ruby Jacomina would be so cute. Just a thought. Good luck! :0)
