Maybell vs. Maybelle vs. May Belle

How would you spell this name? We are so in love with it, slight hesitation in that my parents think it sounds like a cow's name (fair), but really I only think about the little girl in Bridge to Terabithia. We do want it to be pronounced "May Belle" and not "Mable," but we're worried people will just call her May and mistake Belle as her middle name! What do you think of Maybell(e)/May Belle? And any middle name ideas?

I love this name so much. I would spell it Maybelle as in Mother Maybelle Carter, founding member of the famed Carter Family musical group of many years ago.

I LOVE Maybelle! So spunky and comfortable—like a gentler Amanda! And I have always loved the nickname Maeby! "Cow" names or "country" names are really living their moment right now— Ellie, Elsie, Elsa, etc. I could picture a Maybelle in an East Village elementary school, no problem. I wouldn't worry about it being a "cow's" name.

If you love it , definitely use it . Regardless of what parents /anyone else says. There will always be people who love it or hate it . I do however think people will call her Mabel . So I would say maybe go with May belle . it's tricky bc Maybelle doesn't really roll off the tongue and it's kinda akward to say and people usually prounce names wrong when they are not familiar with them or it's just easier to say Mabel . I think there will be confusion either way but all in all maybelle looks the best imo but I think almost everyone will call her Mabel . She may get very sick of that
