If you want to honour a Roger I would pick any R name or any starting with Ro. Or something with the same initials so for Roger Samuel the initials R.S. for her name. I don't think there are any standard female variations for Roger anyway.

According to behindthename.com, Roger means "famous spear", so I looked for female names with similar meanings:

Rhonda - "good spear"
Rhonwen - "fair spear" (can also be "fair hair)
Romilda - "famous battle"
Rowena - fame and joy
Gertrude - "spear of strength"
Gerlinde - soft or flexible spear
